Harvest Day – July 31, 2011

Last weekend’s Garden Yield (July 31, 2011):

Tiny cherry tomatoes!  There should be more soon.

There was one last “hearty” green bean harvest, but now I think they’ve just about kicked the bucket.  It’s just as well, I can’t eat more than 25 green beans anyway.

Yesterday’s Garden Yield (July 14, 2011):

There has been a spattering of green beans and some herbs since last harvest, but this time we have a wee bit more.  The extra-wide jalapeno has looked that way for weeks and wasn’t getting any darker.  So I cut it off, maybe early, and it has no flavor.

I don’t remember what those long chilies are on the top, but they too lacked flavor.  The pepper on the right is a shishito.  I’m hoping to get a couple more, grill them up and serve with some fancy salt.  The little eggplant is very small and I’m not sure what to do with it.  Maybe also grill with fancy salt and we’ll have a miniature appetizer.

The WFF oregano was put into some WFF lamb burgers which Ewat and I ate with fresh English Muffins I made at school.  Delicious, mostly because it was such a nice lamb.

Apparently there is no such thing as an English Muffin in England.  But Thomas was English and he made some muffins in America.
